Motor graders are designed for preparing the substrate of roads and other flat earth as well as leveling aggregate. By using the blade skillfully, it is also possible with them to finish a slope and dig a ditch.
The company will invest nearly $150 million and employ about 600 workers once full production begins. Production of commercial motor graders is expected to begin early next year. A full line of motor graders, with the exception of the 24M motor grader, which is used primarily for mining applications, will be manufactured at the North Little Rock facility.

A good operator is essential to maximize cutting edge life. "The operator is the main controller of the wear on the cutting edge," says Woody Ferrell, Champion Motor Graders. "Make sure you understand what type of application you are operating in for optimal edge life. Harder areas or areas with more rock than dirt will take more operator finesse to keep the edge from wearing prematurely."
