Hydraulic Excavator, also called a 360-degree excavator or digger, sometimes abbreviated simply to a 360, is an engineering vehicle consisting of a backhoe and cab mounted on a pivot (a rotating platform, like a Lazy Susan) atop an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. Their design is a natural progression from the steam shovel.

A compact hydraulic excavator or a mini excavator as it is more usually referred to as a tracked or wheeled construction related machine. The basic model of this machine comes with a back fill blade attached to the boom swing ( the arm ).
