Joy Global Inc., the mining- equipment maker that came out of bankruptcy during the last U.S. recession, may increase profit 30 percent in 2008 as the coal industry booms amid a new economic slump.
P&H MINING EQUIPMENT has put its next-generation C-Series electric shovels to work in mines in Australia (two 4100XPC), Mexico (one 2800XPC) and the United States (four 4100XPC and one 2800XPC). The shovels are digging copper, gold, taconite and coal.
