Italy based Maschio-Gaspardo SpA, a manufacturer of farm equipment, is expected to set up a farm equipment manufacturing plant in Pune with an investment of EUR 3 million. This plant will be operational by 2013.
The company has entered into a partnership with Mahindra AppliTrac, a part of Mahindra & Mahindra’s farm equipment sector, to supply of a complete range of rotary tillage equipment.
Maschio-Gaspardo SpA will manufacture rotovators, rotary tillage equipment for planting, seeding, crop care and crop residue management under the Mahindra brand name for Mahindra AppliTrac. These rotavators will be available across Mahindra and Swaraj dealerships.
Begining in 2011 Maschio will sell more than 10000 rotary tillers in the Indian market. Next year onwards more tillers and other products will be introduced. This will in turn improve the level of technology in Indian agriculture mechanization.
The contract was signed by Mr. Egidio Maschio (Maschio Gaspardo Chairman) and Dr. Pawan Golenka (Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman).
