CATERPILLAR says its new D-Series 973D Track Loader is 10% more powerful than its 973C predecessor, while retaining its reputation and much of the design.
According to Cat, the new 973D features load-sensing hydraulics, joystick steering, hydrostatic drive, single-fabrication mainframe, Z-bar loader linkage and oscillating undercarriage.
CATERPILLAR says with the 973D Track Loaders new operator's station, buyers now can choose either joystick steering or pedal steering. The unit is available in two waste-handling packages with the Standard Package designed for material handling applications, while the Severe Package affords maximum protection for more demanding work, such as demolition.
The new Cat D-Series 973D Track Loader uses an 8.8L, 263hp Cat C9 diesel engine which meets US EPA Tier-3 and European Union Stage IIIA standards. It also uses Cat’s proprietary ACERT Technology for emissions-control and fuel-economy.
