Turnaround Seat for Tigercat 635D and 630D Skidders

Tigercat is a leader in the development of high capacity four-wheel and six-wheel drive skidders. As a pioneering developer, Tigercat has long recognized the many advantages and reduced cost associated with operating fewer high capacity skidders rather than a greater number of less capable machines.

With the release of the 635D in late 2008 and now with the much anticipated release later this spring of the 630D, Tigercat continues to assert itself as the leading manufacturer of high capacity skidders. These two machines are equipped with the most advanced and efficient hydrostatic drive system ever developed by Tigercat. Combined with the 194 kW (260 hp) Cummins QSB6.7 Tier III engine, performance and fuel economy in difficult terrain and under heavy load are unparalleled.

But the most readily apparent new feature of the D-series machines is inside the redesigned cab. Tigercat's new Turnaround seat swivels effortlessly, locking in either the forward or rear facing position. Once facing rear, the operator has full control of all machine functions including drive controls. The steering wheel has been replaced with an armrest mounted joystick for improved ergonomics in either seating position.

In analyzing skidder duty cycles and cab ergonomics, Tigercat expects a significant reduction in operator fatigue and neck and upper back strain, especially in applications where the operator is required to drive for extended distances into the cut block in reverse and when picking up multiple bunches to build a sufficiently large drag.
