VOLVO Construction Equipment says the first Volvo L50F wheeled loader to land in Great Britain has gone to work on a farm.
According to Volvo, the L50F was recently launched onto the market, making its first appearance at Intermat, Paris in April 2009. The first unit purchased by Suffolk based Hitchcock Farms has been put to work loading and blending raw materials to produce a range of animal feeds.
The new L50F joins the farms existing L60E purchased in 2004 for handling ash and fertilizer.
Volvo says the L50F and the smaller L45F are two new mid-sized wheeled loaders joining the companies F series line up. The series features a sloping engine hood design on the rear chassis due to the transverse mounted 4.8 Tier III engine and hydrostatic motor.
The L50F weighs 9430kg and has a bucket size of 1.6 cubic metres with a full turn tip-load capacity of 5900kg.
