Mobility software improves operator safety
Shopfloor networking and hardware specialist, will underline its commitment to operator safety by promoting new optional accessories for mobile computing applications.

DLoG will be on stand 119 at Logistics Link South, which takes place at Sandown Park, Surrey on 5-6 February 2008. Designed to amplify confirmation or error warnings for the benefit of vehicle operators, DLoG's new sound kit offers an output of 10W for use across a wide spectrum of logistics and industrial environments.

Available for all DLoG MPC and X terminals, the system is designed to play both audio files and beeps and includes audio amplifier, weatherproof speaker and mounting bracket for installation on either side of the screen.

DLoG's recently launched screen blanking feature on vehicle-mounted terminals will be demonstrated for the first time in the UK.

This important functionality enables the screen to automatically switch to blank mode while the truck is in motion and when the lift mechanism is operated.

This prevents operators from being distracted by viewing or operating the screen while driving - ensuring more efficient operation, while helping to reduce the number and severity of accidents involving forklift trucks.

Installation of this function can be easily customised to meet the requirements of different vehicles, while the integral software enables a time delay to be specified before the screen switches blank and for minimum stationary time before it switches back on.

DLoG's range of vehicle mounted and mobile computing hardware extends from the X7 with a 7-inch screen running Windows CE5.0, to the MPC with either a 10-inch or 12-inch screen and a choice of operating systems.

In-house product development and a thorough understanding of customers' needs ensure the company maintains a world-leading position in providing top quality, cost-effective touch screen and mobile computing solutions.

As a logistics hardware and wireless data specialist, DLoG works with sales partners to implement complete logistics projects for applications such as warehouse management systems, forklift control systems, supply chain solutions and order picking.

Services include in-depth organisational consulting, concept design and project management, as well as hardware and software installation.
