Forklift data logger and impact monitor
AN Australian company has unveiled the latest counter-measure in the fight against forklift injuries and deaths, a state-of-the-art wireless technology which allows companies to control who boards a forklift, and precisely measures how drivers perform.

Damage prevention specialists Shockwatch has released the Shockswitch RFID, a new generation forklift monitor which represents a breakthrough in forklift management.

The Shockswitch RFID is a data logger and impact sensor that attaches to a forklift. It integrates with the forklift to:

· Control who can drive the lift;

· Identify the driver of the lift;

· Assign abnormal forklift impacts to the driver operating the lift by date and time;

· Provide a user-programmable reaction to impact, including sounding an alarm for a specific period or disabling the lift;

· Provide usage and impact reports, including drivers vs impacts, lifts vs impacts, lifts vs utilisation, etc.

The Shockswitch RFID uses state-of-the-art wireless technology to establish a real-time link between forklifts in the plant and a PC in the office.

It automatically reports more than 15 unique event types to the office PC, transmitting the event data via a radio link between the forklift and the computer.

Users can monitor an unlimited number of forklifts and each RFID unit can be programmed to instantly send event data as it is generated, or to delay sending until a specific number of events has accumulated.
